12 oz bottle purchased at the Beer Run in Chattanooga. Poured a dark brown color with a one finger brown head. The aroma was roasted malt with a note of bittersweet chocolate. The flavor was chocolate with only a hint of roasted malt. The palate was above average with a creamy mouthfeel, a medium body and soft carbonation. I enjoyed this more than some of the previous raters seemed to.

Small tan head didn’t hold long. Faint aroma of malt and slight coffee. Flavor is chocolaty and roasty. Somewhat lighter bodied than expected. Smooth and dry on the palate. Easily drinkable apposed to a sipping beer.

Very dark walnut brown, moderate brown head. Roasty chocolate aroma and flavour, dry woody finish, medium bodied. Straightforward, decent.

Pours black with thin brown head that fades but sticks around probably due to the oatmeal. Initially I got hints of blackberry which was quickly overpowered by chocolate, dark roast coffee, and a little raisin. Kind of watery and light bodied. Finish is somewhat oily and malty, with low to moderate bitterness lingering. A good brew just not terribly complex. Oatmeal is a nice touch.

12oz bottle. Black with a one finger beige head. Roasty, somewhat acidic and sharp aroma. Same for the flavor, with a bit of milk-chocolate sweetness. There is also a subtle spicy vegetable flavor that holds the smoothness back. Almost not an issue, but it just makes this less than good. Medium bodied with spare carbonation.

Dark dark brown with ruby glints at the edges and a thin soft tan head. Weak aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is smooth and the oats come through. Coffee, chocolate and roasted finish.
