Dark brown appearance with a decent mocha colored head - no lacing. The flavor has a sweet chocolate undertone to it - no dirt grittiness to it. Has a good velvety mouthfeel to it. Finishes strong. Overall, a decent porter. Aurelius (2655), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Creamy on the front, but then it turns dark roasted. Mouthfeel was a little on the thin side, but it finished lightly sweet with coffee. Steib (581), Queen Creek, Arizona, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2003 Color pours a dark brownish black, settles to a very opaque black, no head was produced but some residual tannish bubbles arrived around the edges and has some small stringy patches of lace. Aroma is blackened malts and very roasty burnt-like, slightly robust and earthy like wet soil, with a nice deep coffeeish/espresso backing thats all pretty soft but not in a light aspect. Taste is mildly robust and smooth of deeply roasted-blackened malts, good sweetish tangy bitterness with a slight hop twinge and dryness. Gets a bit of espresso taste and feel quality in there but nothing to potent. It could use a bit more oompff, its pretty mellow, smooth, and easy. Just enough flavor and tangyness to keep me sippin'. Feel is a bit light, but close to medium body, smooth & pretty creamy and coats nicely with a light popcorn-like airy, partially tangy dryness on the top of the mouth and the tongue in the finish. Pretty decent porter, I wouldn't pass it up if offered. sethdude (609), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Poured a deep black with hints of burgandy, dark tan head, not too much lacing (unfortunately). Sweet, coffee aroma with hints of fruit and nuts. Flavor is very smooth, rich but not as much as others in the style. Definitely creamy. Excellent with steak. I will definitely be buying more of this in the future. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 30, 2003 Nice Porter, almost black in the pint glass with a small light brown head which disappeared quickly. Nutty, coffee, roasted malt aroma with definite but light hoppy character. Flavor is rich and toasty, bit of molasses, balancing of hops and a long dry finish. The mouth feel lives up to the "Cream" designation in its name - creamy and full bodied. Good porter worth another try in the future.
