| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 14, 2003 Pours dark chocolate. Long, large head. Nose is malt sweet. Not alot of malt in the body, finishes slightly dry with a definite hop presence. Good beer to introduce the newcomer to porters, but overall unimpressive. JPDIPSO (4921), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 9, 2003 Dark brown color with tan head and roasted corn aroma. Cloyingly bitter burnt flavor. Body is thin for a porter. Finishes heavy on black malt with a touch of dark chocolate. This lacks any complexity. Tastes too much like burnt water, if there is such a thing. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2003 color is very dark, almost opaque. thick beige head leaving behind some very good lacing. aroma is coffee, with a sour cream note to it. flavor is coffee with a decent sweetness..coffee does taste a little stale though. in my opinion, better than the overall rating. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 26, 2003 Black as the night itself, this brew starts off bit sweet and then cascades smoothly into a tinged malty flavor as it goes down. Rather light for a porter that has the wrod "cream" in the title. Decent porter and worth a six-pack trial, but I'd take a SNP or Anchor any day over this.
