| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2008 12 oz bottle: Deep black pour with a suitable finger thick head. Nice spider webbing on the way down. Malt notes are present, but hard to pull from the nose. Sweet chocolate and ripe plum arise as the beer comes to room temp. The double onslaught of wheat and oatmeal create a creamy smooth drinkability. Soft notes of brownie batter, smokey malt and sweet caramel dominant the body. Finishes clean, with a drying cocoa note on the back of the tongue. Good. JohnnyJ (1351), Carlsbad, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 16, 2008 Pours a clear dark brown with medium light tan head. Pretty straight forward porter, but still good. Chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and nuts. Finishes dry and the body is rather thin. Rynoplasty (544), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottle into English pint glass. Pours think and dark with a truly brown, heavy head. There’s some blood red in the color, but only if you force light through the glass. Lacing was heavy, as seemed fitting. Aroma was roasty and chocolatey. Strong without being overpowering. Flavor was very, very smooth with the chocolate and roasted malts and some delicate oat-influenced sweetness underneath. A really nice balance. Palate was smooth and creamy, as promised. I expected some harshness and cloying in the end, but it never came. Just a nice roasted flavor in the mouth at the end. As you can tell, I really enjoyed this Porter. Not up to some of the extreme darks out there, but a nicely done beer that is a tasty pleasure. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA

Aroma was chocolate, herbal.
Flavor was chocolate, coffee, mild hop profile. Malts are a bit sweet.
Overall not my favorite style but a better than average Porter. A 5.3% abv helps make this a more sessionable beer. gotbeach (138), San Diego, California, USA
