Nearly black in color with a very thin brown head. Light aroma consists of chocolate, caramel, and cereal. Palate is decent with a fair amount of carbonation. Nice flavor of chocolate, caramel, and malt. Finishes smooth, but the aftertaste is a bit sticky. Pretty good beer.

Deep brown color with a slight roasted malt aroma and caramel. Taste oats, malts, chocolate and some caramel. Not exactly creamy, but decent.

Bottle, BB 9/2/05 (little late on this one!). Poured clear, deep garnety-brown with a short, creamy cap of yellowy-beige head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet, nicely roasted chocolate, tar, and caramel notes with a slightly sour accent to it. The flavor began with oats and sweeter chocolate rolling smoothly over the tip of the tongue.. nicely aged caramel and more chocolate across the middle with a light roast to it.. dry, milk chocolate and caramel finish. About medium-bodied on the palate and smooth.. moderate carbonation. This held up surprisingly well!

Bottle; poured a dark brown color with a small to medium sized light brown head; head was a bit creamy. Aroma of chocolate, some roasted malt with a sweet and fruity presence. Was expecting a better palate actually; a little bit watery. Flavor was solid, but nothing distinctive or great. Some roasted malt, chocolate and fruit.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized dark brown head. The aroma was lightly sweet malts with a roasty undertone and just a hint of chocolate. The flavor was sweetish light roasty malts with a lightly bitter middle and a long malty finish. The mouthfeel was rather creamy.

Sampled at 2007 Brewnosers’ Christmas Gathering. Dark brown colour with a frothy and creamy tan head. Coffee, chocolate, and nicely roasty aroma with some fruity and acidic notes. Chocolate and coffee flavours with a touch of acidity and a roasty, fruity, and earthy bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, smooth.

Poured dark brown with a tan head. Tasted a little bitter, but overall it was kind of disappointing. I didn’t get much coffee or chocolate flavor. The Porter was a little watery also.
