Tod (8), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Oct 17, 2009 This is a good beer if you haven’t had your expectations raised by a quality beer such as Fuller’s London Porter. It’s a decent for a microbrew of the States, but you can do better with an import from Europe. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Jun 8, 2009 This was the best beer MacT’s ever brewed, and I’m glad I was able to have it a couple times before they stopped making it. Deep brown pour with red hints to it, minimal lacing. Aroma is all chocolate and bourbon, some light roasted malt. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla and bourbon with again a light roastiness. Medium mouthfeel and oh so delicious. I hope that they someday brew this again. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jan 11, 2009 (22oz. bottle, 2003 vintage) Pours a dark brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of vanilla, raisins, plums, and chocolate. Flavor of toasted malt, raisins, coffee, and chocolate with a creamy mouthfeel. Wasatch (270), Layton, Utah, USA Oct 25, 2008 2003 Vintage
Pours a nice black color, little carbonation, small tan head, with some nice little islands. The nose is malty, bourbon, chocolate. The taste is sweet, malty, nice bourbon notes, with some nice oaky tones. Medium body. Drinkable, this is a very tasty brew for a 2003. Thanks Eric.
douglas88 (1555), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Oct 25, 2008 2003 Bomber shared by Eric, thanks man for this absolute gem. Pours a pure black color with a medium size light brown head. The aroma was amazing; bourbon, some vanilla, slightly sour wood and some roasted malts. A very nice aroma, very enticing. The taste was excellent also; very light and slightly sour wood flavors, a perfect balance of bourbon and more traditional porter flavors. After five years the body has become a bit less creamy and full, but still very nice. An awesome beer. Thanks Eric. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Oct 1, 2008 22 oz. bottle via trade with PhillyBeer2112 quite some time ago.
