Just happened to vist McTarnahan’s on all 3 nights I was in Portland. They ran out of this after my first night. A complex, lightly sweeten brew that makes me proud to be a beer drinker. Its intertwined tastes hops, caramel infused with a mild woody undertone makes this one of my favorite Porter’s on Tap.

WCCII: Many thanks to The_Beer_God for sharing. Dark dark ruby brown clear under a small short lasting tan head. Very smooth slippery clean body typical of the best of this style. Intense rich roasted coffee bean aroma, Faintly cellar mouldy, earthy smokey and stronger coffee flavoured start. More complexity in the middle with unsweetened chocolate and roasted malt and woody oak before the light bitter short caramel and cola like sweetish finish. A pity about the slightly weaker than expected finish. Still rates as one of my favourite Porters.

bottled: got lucky to find this and im glad i did. yes, scraff you got one coming, if i dont drink it first. ive never had the plane blackwatch cream porter but this one is spectacular. we poured this into two glasses a 16 oz pint glass and the remainder into a trappist glass. the tan-brown head lingered in the trappist glass but was gone quickly in the pint. nice nose- changed as i drank it and as the beer warmed. first chocolate coffee notes, second some burnt chared aromas...and then the best came last with a distinct bourbon nose. on the palate a nice soft almost greasy feel that slips away without a peep, what i would expect from a CREAM porter. whole lot of great flavors that have nicely mellowed choc, toffee, buttery, mild fuggles hops and nuts. this is a beautiful beer and one of the best porters ive had, its the shiiite.

Thanks to The_Beer_God for sharing at WCC2. Probably the best smelling beer I have ever had. I almost didn't drink it because I wanted to keep sniffing it. Aroma of nicely roasted malts, slight coffee, and chocolate. Flavor is of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee with the bitterness not really coming through until the finish. Nice taste, Amazing Aroma.

Thanks to The_Beer_God for sharing at WCC2. My last beer of the night. Pitch black, small creamy off white head. Rich notes of bourbon, wood, vanilla, roasted coffee, chocolate, and cream. Flavor matches aroma, but you can actually detect some piney hops trying to keep balance. Medium to full bodied, smooth as velvet finish. Need to find more ASAP.

Aroma is mildly rich and thick (not all that descriptive, but there it is). Some sugar, some coffee (very mild) there in the aroma. Color is deep, deep brown, almost opaque. Flavor is rich, full, sweet. Some coffee there, some milk and sugar. Pretty nice beer.

Poured a deep rad and black color with a small tan head, but hardly any lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, alittle chocolate, mild whiskey. Roasted malt and coffee taste with a creamy mouthfeel.
