| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 4, 2004 The sweetness on this one is too much and overpowers what might have been a very nice Tripel. It is one-dimensional in its sweetness. Nice try but hold some of the candy sugar next time. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2004 Apricot, Peach, and alcohol in the aroma. Clear light amber color. Very malty, sugar, alcohol (but decently hidden), apricot, fruit. Pretty normal, it’s not bad, but it’s just a pretty one-sided beer, very un-complex. Kinz (2205), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 24, 2004 Midum amber orange, moderately rapid fading head. Sweet aroma of cotton candy. Flavor is way the heck too sweet, candy sugar galore. There is a bit of spice there, but it is completely knocked flat by the flavor of cotton candy followed by sucking on some rock candy, with a chaser of raw sugar. I just wasn’t impressed. I’m really out of line with some raters I really respect on this one, so I will probably give it another shot down the road. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2004 Cloudy orange with a thin white head. Oranges and alcohol in the aroma, with a bit spicy yeast. Fizzy medium mouthfeel, starts sweet and ends sweet. Decent, but boring for the style. BigBastard (668), L.A., California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 19, 2004 I was pleasantly surprised by this. Good spice, clove, banana and candi sugar, with a warm alcohol burn at the end. I’d like to store a few of these and see how they tu out. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA

Rating #480
Pours me a stunning bronze body with highlights of amber and gold.. a bountiful ivory head with a hue of green. The aroma is luscious with candy sugars plums, apricots, and butterscotch. The flavor brings a sweet and fruity experience. The malts are a bit toasty.. even more butterscotch and caramel here. Rather yeasty, biscuity… but with loads of black pepper… kind of a Southern biscuit covered in that thick white gravy with all the pepper in it…. Ohhh Cracker Barrel!
Anyway, a nice buttery palate.. creamy and full.. and the 9.3% alc warms yah up in the finish… sweet and sticky.. This is a Very Nice American made Triple! bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Apr 21, 2004 bottled: had this one last night, in a long string of belgiums and others trying to be belgiums. pours typical hazy golden color with a white head that was gone quickly. lots of bubblegum in the nose and sweetness. little to no hop flavor sweet, sweet fruit. wheat flavors as the underlying backbone. these beers are good but as they warm they grow sweeter and almost too sweet for me. seems that many are closer to replicating belgium triples then any other brews (unibroue, new belgium brewing, and now mac's) good effort, but probably not one ill buy again. i had petrus last night and prefer their triple over this.
