Commercial Description:
Weighing in at nine percent alcohol, Grand Luxe will sandbag the unwitting with its pale straw color, mild hop flavor, dryness and alluring head of foam. A true Belgian Triple, Grand Luxe is made with unmalted wheat, spicy Belgian yeast and genuine Belgian candy sugar, which contributes to flavor and alcohol content alike.

Pours a clear orange copper with a thin bubbly white head. Sweet Belgian malt, candi sugar, and bready yeast aroma. Body is kinda thin, but well carbonated, presenting the illusion of thickness. Starts with a short-lived candy sweetness goes through some bready traits and finishes lightly acidic and crisp. A decent tripel.

Deep golden color out of the bottle with a whispy white head. Candy sugar sweet with a present but not too stong alcohol flavor. I got some spice, apple, orange and yeast. Solid beer.

Pours a nice golden color with a medium white head. Aroma is very fruity with citrus and apples. Flavor is apples, peach and oranges. Body is medium and quite nice. Not a bad tripel.

Fruity, malty aroma, notes of pear, apple and orange to be found, along with peppery alcohol, yeast spice and sugary malt sweetness. Deep golden amber color, lightly sedimented, with a subsiding, fine head. Fruity, sweet flavor profile, developing hints of melon and honey before the profoundly spicy, moderately bitter and acidic finish, some banana esters late. Lightly warming, medium-full body and palate is surprisingly fizzy. Certainly worth a try but likely not destined for the annals of Great Tripels Gone By.

Ok after days, weeks even, of indecsision I purchased this today ..last one in the store too. Comes in a plain brown bomber with gold screen printed label..nice and simple yet classy. Lot of carbonation released when bottle is opened..nice looking beer in the Chimay chalice..light chesnut/honey brown, small pure white head..great swirls of small carbonation bubbles. Lovelly smooth yet spicy aroma..very aromatic..also great malt scents too..blackberrys and other wild fruits come to mind..nice Lovelly smooth tasting brew to start..then the spices heat up the middle of the taste..alcohol warmth takes over at the end..but very pleasant smooth alcohol. Nice and creamy smooth on the palte//alcohol is balanced just right. Very drinkable tripel ..with 9.3% its never going to be a session beer..but I can drink this very easily.

12/27/03 RB three floyds gathering-thanks to Phillybeer for this one! Pours a copper hue with subtle carbonation. Carmel apple in the aroma. yeasty, almost to yeasty for even a belgian. I think its pretty well balanced though. A tripel with bite that doesn't balance out just right. A bit too acidic and did not go down as smooth as I would have liked. But this is still a tripel that will make you use your senses and is an experience in itself.

This beer formed a small sized off-white head that was creamy and smooth with fine-small sized bubbles that mostly dissipated. The body was transparent and softly carbonated with a yellow-golden hue. The nose was malty, hoppy, citrus notes, some apple notes, and some clove. The flavor was sweet, acidic, bitter and some sourness was observed. The mouthfeel was a bit thin and this was a medium bodied beer with average amounts of lacing.

This bottled brew tasted at the Three Floyds Birthday Gathering 12/27/2003 from the TannerTavernBoys poured a small head of mostly diminishing off white colored fine to medium sized bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated transparent yellow orange colored body. The aroma was interesting with malt floral and port notes while the mouthfeel was matly smooth thick and chewey from start to finish. The flavor was vinuous and spicey. It interestingly makes your mouth tingle.
