Aroma of diacetyl, banana and yeast. Very full-bodied with loads of sweet malt and distinct notes of banana and yeast. Almost no bitterness. But this almost reminds me more of a Weizenbock than of a Tripel. 160106 bu11zeye (5510), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of horse blanket, mustiness, and fruitiness. Flavor of cherries, berries, caramel and grapefruit with a bit of a bite in the finish. CaptainCougar (5494), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2004 Pours a clear orange copper with a thin bubbly white head. Sweet Belgian malt, candi sugar, and bready yeast aroma. Body is kinda thin, but well carbonated, presenting the illusion of thickness. Starts with a short-lived candy sweetness goes through some bready traits and finishes lightly acidic and crisp. A decent tripel. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Sweet honey and clove aroma, with a sharp and sweet flavor. Very similar to New Belgium trippel. Sharp and crisp finish of apples and alcohol. Very good. Cornfield (4948), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 23, 2006 At first all I got for the nose was a snootful of soapy yeat, but as the head broke up, which it did rapidly, there was some sweet malt, cherries, and berries. Nice hazy amber body. The flavor is a fruity sweet malt, a touch of banana now added, and just a hint of its hefty abv. It has a sweet fruity finish with a low alcohol burn. Not bad.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2006 Deep golden color with a thinner lid of cream colored bubbles. An aroma that comes out rather clean, light malt and currants dominates the nose. Some light banana and a hint of cloves also in the waft. Only a slight hint of its strength. First impression after the first sip "just a strong simple sweet ale". Slick feel with enough eff to help things from getting too cloying. Very simple flavors with candi, light caramel, mild pears in a light syrup. Quite simple, but certainly very drinkable. A beginners strong ale. I can’t find fault with this aside from being simple and on the verge of being boring. If I wanted to relax and have a strong ale without being distracted by it, this would get my vote. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2003 A pellucid amber color with a yellow rim, no head or lacing, hmm. Aroma is slightly spicy with a contrast of floral hop and banana/clove. Grapefruit, pepper and malt dominate the flavor. This could almost be mistaken for an average saison, but it's not. Overall this was alright, but was a little too 2-dimentional for me. BBB63 (4232), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 28, 2003 Golden hue with small off-white head. The aroma was fruit (apple and strawberry), honey, grassy hops, sweet roasted malts, clove, and Belgian yeast esters. The taste had a acidic fruity nature combined with a sweet malty base. Some spice detected upon the finish. The mouthfeel is lively and a touch watery. Okay tripel, needs more body and complexity. Alcohol was well hidden.
