Commercial Description:
Highlander is a remarkably unique ale that combines the fruity character of authentic Scottish ale yeast with the delightful hop bouquet of our own distilled hop oil and a "kiss" of Highland heather. Used in Highland ales throughout the centuries, heather adds a touch of herbal sweetness that blends beautifully with the floral hop aroma to produce an exceptional infusion of fragrance and flavor. The result is an extraordinary crisp and refreshing pale ale.

Pours a cloudy yellow red. Head is nearly non-existant. Smells of hops, a little mild though. Clearly an APA. Taste is sweet and a little dull. Everything about the beer makes me think it could be sharper.

A very average pale ale. A hoppy aroma. Pale in appearance. Flavor lacked hops and there was no other characteristic in its flavor to make up for this rather bland taste. It was crisp and thirst quenching - but I really don’t think of it as being a good pale ale.

Pours a clear medium gold. Moderate carbonation with not much aroma. Seems like a pretty refreshing beer.

Nose is hoppy with floral and citrus notes; hazy, bubbly gold with a small white head; Flavor is flowery hops with a little bitterness in the finish.

Gold in color, with splotchy head. The aroma was hopcity with some malt. The flavor had some citrus and pale malts up front, giving way to some hop and pine elements in the rear. Medium palate.

Bottle. Aroma of a herbal flower garden. Darker shade of gold. Had a lemon flavor to it with some good carbination. Decent brew went good after little work outside. Refreshing I guess.

My bottle says Mac’s Highlander *Golden* Ale, but close enough. Yellow with medium CO2. Yeastly, slightly pine hop aroma. Kinda tastes like BMC, only not bad. Finish is sweet floral hops, no bitter.

Golden/amber and lively with a small, white head. Aroma is dry and malted to start with juicy citrus arriving after. Flavor starts with some fleeting metallics then stabilizes to a pleasing melting pot of sweet malts and orange bitters. A little thin but rather good.
