Malt/hop balance in the flavor definitely leans towards the malt side, very sweet stuff, fruitiness is of orange, pineapple, and the citric hops. Good palate, very full and creamy. frylock (1024), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 1, 2005 A nice drinkable APA. Kind of average, no real complaints though. Beyond that, not much to say about this. I would but I just rated hell of beers and I’m tired.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 1, 2004 Well - with a name like Highlander and the plaid label, and I didn’t see "Pale Ale" in the small print - I was really expecting a Scottish Ale. This is just bland. Orange/gold, clear and somewhat watery looking. Aroma is sweet and malty. Taste is medium bodied, some prickly carbonation, bready sweet malts. Finish is half dry, half lingering sweet. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 5, 2004 (12 oz bottle) The malt is on the sweet side and a bit bready; Mild bitterness doesn’t balance out the sweet maltiness, not even in the finish. Mild orange citrus flavor remains in the background from start to finish. In fact, this beer doesn’t really seem much change from start to finish. Light to medium in body, and it seems a little watery at times. Not too much nose, but it is lightly sweet with a hint of hops. Medium yellow in color. The off-white head pours to average size, and fades to a ring, leaving no lacing. This isn’t a bad little beer, it’s surely drinkable enough, but it’s just very ordinary. beerinmarch (2800), Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2004 Pours a light golden color with a small off-white head. lighter floral hopped aroma, with some sweet caramel smells, a bit toasty. Taste starts with a quick jostle of sweet malt then quickly fades to a floral hop finish. A smooth a crisp pale, could use a bit more malt, but alright as an easy drinkin brew. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 1, 2004 Relatively clear straw-colored body with fine suspended sediment, thin off-white head. Light floral aroma with cereals and slight bitterness. Body is watered-down and pretty pathetic, with tiny piney hops and light cereals. It’s as if the brewers added a few drops of flavor to a glass of water. A weak APA if I may say.
