Aug 15, 2004 Cask @ brewery: deep brown or black, creamy tan head. smooth and thin, very light with a small tinge of artificial flavored black licorice, completely separate from the roasted malts and smoky blackness of the porter. Try again please.

Aug 3, 2004 RBSG 2004, on cask: Brown black with a thin tan head. Sweet licorice aroma, smooth soft carbonation. I really don’t like licorice that much, so my rating is a bit low.

Aroma of roasted malt, black patent & faint licorice that blends in with the hops. The flavor is swee4t & balanced, a light malt flavor with low carbonation . Finishes astringent and roasted. This is fairly similar to the regular version with the cask qualities standing out the most and a little anise.
