Commercial Description:
Mac Frost is a big, rich beer in the tradition of English strong ales. We begin with pale and Munich malt along with three varieties of caramel malt for gusto and big, creamy flavor. For balance we add Northern Brewer hops for bitterness and East Kent Goldings for aroma. We take it even further in the finish by dry-hopping Mac Frost with Oregon’s own Willamette hops and English Colthup Goldings. The result is tantalizing; a big beer that delivers with savory malts and complex, lingering hop spice on the tongue and in the nose. This beer will complement your holiday cheer like no other.

Another beer better when it warmed, it was way too bitter at the start. I tasted no wheat and the hops were overwhelming. The carmel did kick in after a while and that was pleasent. While it has no aftertaste, I have no desire to try it again. While not offensive while you are consuming it, the bottle smells awful afterwards.

Nice hints of spice and caramel. Not over the top, and more bland than other winter seasonals, but still good.

Orange in color with a small head. Aroma and flavor similar to an English type ale. Earthy hop smell with a malty flavor. Decent brew.

Amber/brown typical winter beer. The alcohol is sufficient to make its presence known in the aroma as well as the taste, but is unobtrusive. The aroma also includes some unfortunate hints of varnish and/or banana. Sweetish.

This dark brew poured well with an amber body, but the flavor was a bit lacking in the spices and complex undertones of a great holiday beer.

An amber body with a light tan head that slowly dissapated over the drinking period. Also good lacing along the sides of the glass. Malty and a dark fruity aroma that was pleasant to sniff. Also, a mild hint of alcohol. A brief hint of sweetness then bitterness. Also some maltiness. I enjoyed it.

I don't know if I had a bad bottle or what, but this one was nice to look at yet not the best on flavor. Had a hard time finishing this one.

This was an excellent ale. This Winter Ale was a perfect deep amber color with a full head. The flavor was full of roasted malt and hopiness. The finish was a bit bitter but pleasant. Overall this was an excellent experience. I won this beer as a result of the Patriot's Super bowl win.
