Commercial Description:
Editor's Note: Formerly Woodstock IPA, now known as Oak-Aged IPA.

Woodstock IPA is an authentic wood-conditioned India Pale Ale with the distinctive flavor of the British Empire’s original. Traditional IPAs were distinguished by rich hops, which were generously added to preserve the beer during its long overseas voyage between England and India. They were also characterized by striking oak flavor, as the beer made its journey in wooden barrels. Woodstock IPA matures in oak and is dry-hopped during the aging process to bring you the classic style.
Specs: Original Gravity 15.5, Specific Gravity 1062, Hop Bitterness 45 IBU

Bottled. Amber colour, creamy head. Restrained grapefruit aroma. Sweet, lightly woody and with a fair amount of cookie malt. Hop aromatic finish. Well balanced in all aspects.

Light orange with a small-to-medium white head. Aroma sweet, fruity, floral, orange. Heavily citrus flavor, lightly woody (huh huh--woody), bitter hop finish. Thin. Very unusualy IPA; different but unimpressive.

Reddish-orange amber. Small fluffy tanned head. Nose is strong orange peel, hops, and very flowery. Taste is more orange peel, and just strong citrus in general, along with very faint wood, light malt and caramel. Very oily palate and very bitter feel. Finish is bitter with more oily citrus and orange peel. This was a bit disappointing. Generally I like their stuff, but this was a let down.

Golden oragne with no head. Aroma was hoppy and floral. Sweet very smooth with little bitterness. Very smooth and crisp. Can almost taste flowers that were rained on the night before.

When at the PDX Airport, go to the Portland Brewery Pizza & Pub. Several taps not limited to the PBC. After requesting the Mt Hood IPA and Rogue Yellow Snow (Both I’ve never tried and both out), I settled for the Woodstock. Nice florals typical of a good IPA. I didn’t want to rush the experience, but we had to go get my mother-in-laws luggage from the baggage claim.

Pours a nice lacey head. Amber-orange colored. "Oakiness" is definitely present. Hop presence is more in the aroma than the flavor. Sweet finish. Could use more of a malt backbone.

Pours a golden orange with a thin head, GREAT lacing. Aroma is typical for the style, lot’s of grapfruit and spicy hops, flavor is fruity, then bitter, then sweet and grassy. A very solid representation of the style.

Bright amber color with a thin lid of beige bubbles and a small amount of lace. Primarily hops in the aroma, with light orange, mild floral and hint of oak in the nose. Very dry and bitter. Lots of dry wood and earth. Lacks a hearty mart backbone.
