Commercial Description:
Editor's Note: Formerly Woodstock IPA, now known as Oak-Aged IPA.

Woodstock IPA is an authentic wood-conditioned India Pale Ale with the distinctive flavor of the British Empire’s original. Traditional IPAs were distinguished by rich hops, which were generously added to preserve the beer during its long overseas voyage between England and India. They were also characterized by striking oak flavor, as the beer made its journey in wooden barrels. Woodstock IPA matures in oak and is dry-hopped during the aging process to bring you the classic style.
Specs: Original Gravity 15.5, Specific Gravity 1062, Hop Bitterness 45 IBU

Burnt amber colour with a medium head. Aroma is floral and spicy with a touch of sweetness. Flavour is citrus balanced with sweet malt. Dry finish.

Gold/amber hue with a modest head and sparse lacing. Rich malty, woody aroma with a good citrusy hop background and a whiff of alcohol. Hearty in body, bitter and oaky with caramel, brown sugar, vanilla and whiskey notes and a lingering finish. I don’t know how authentic this beer is but it comes close to how I would "imagine" an old time IPA to taste like. A little different take on the style and a refreshing change of pace from some of the tasty but rather predictable IPA’s out there.

cool drink. it is a pretty good IPA ovarall, in fact I was surprised to see that it was rated so low. The bite at the end has this maltyness to it. GIves it a rolling finish.

gold amber, white head. peach, melon, toffee and woody aroma. some orange marmalade flavours with pine and earth. for a wood aged beer I’d expect a bit more body and lasting flavour in the finish. still quite nice.

Hazy Amber, creamy head. Sweet and fruity aroma, some melon, hops with an orangey kick. Earthy and bitter flavor, bitter finish. Medium bodied, slightly dry. A nice IPA.

Bottle. Some oak in there, quite dry and citric, not lovely or anything, fairly dull, but tasty enough, pretty hoppy i suppose. it was OK.

duvel tulip glass: reddish copper body with soapy white head. berry sweet; sweet, malty and woodsy aroma... sharp, thin, wait... nevermind... IPA? it’s alright, but... IPA?

This beer wasn’t bad. It wasn’t as bitter as I expected in an IPA. It’s a nice drinkable beer, but it just didn’t have that IPA kick. Still, not a bad beer, but I’d buy other IPAs over this one.
