Commercial Description:
Editor's Note: Formerly Woodstock IPA, now known as Oak-Aged IPA.

Woodstock IPA is an authentic wood-conditioned India Pale Ale with the distinctive flavor of the British Empire’s original. Traditional IPAs were distinguished by rich hops, which were generously added to preserve the beer during its long overseas voyage between England and India. They were also characterized by striking oak flavor, as the beer made its journey in wooden barrels. Woodstock IPA matures in oak and is dry-hopped during the aging process to bring you the classic style.
Specs: Original Gravity 15.5, Specific Gravity 1062, Hop Bitterness 45 IBU

Very faint aroma...maybe some mild floral hints, but not too much at all. A dissapointment. Transparent copper pour with small white head. Very fruity to start with some woodsiness in the middle--probably some of the oak. Finishes a deceivingly hoppy, but not too bitter. A little thin in the middle.

Hoppy, slightly cidery aroma with Some sweet oak present. The smoothness kind of reminds me of a cask ale. Sweet and faintly hoppy with a bit of resinous oak. A solid IPA but I wish it was a bit hoppier

Thin head with a clear orange color. The smell of oranges and vanilla come from this brew. Very full flavor of tangerines and some pine at first. Gets a little lighter as you drink it, but still has character. The wood is in the dry finish. I think that this is a very solid and underrated IPA. If you like the style, give it a try.

Bright copper-orange. Thin but creamy head and lace. Aroma has equal amounts of sweet malt, slight fruit and citric hop elements. Light to medium bodied, nicely pronounced sweet/earthy/grainy malt top, citric, bitter hops integrated nicely, I see where the oak might be present in the dry finish but not in flavor of beer. Not a bad IPA by any means.

Copper/orange in color with a small white head. Slightly fruity, citric hop aroma with a touch of oak. Piney hops with a dry woddy finish. Lacking in body a bit and could stand to be a bit hoppier.

Rich golden amber colour with light white head and soapy lacing. Very stong hop aroma out of the bottle, by comparison subdued in the glass. First taste is initially confusing. An array of floral, fruity and woody flavours. Finish is unexpectedly short. Beer is enjoyable and unusual in the sweetness which absorbs and accentuates the hops at the same time making the beer just a little off balance. As the glass empties there is a mix of sour fruit with the sweet. Interesting contradiction get an extra point.

Clear copper. Nose is malty, some caramel. Flavor is noticeably woody and oaky, some caramel and toffee notes. Nice palate, full and creamy.

Flavorless, watered down, little oak flavor... not very tasty. I think I need to stay away from Mctarnahan's brews unless they are oak aged or strong.
