Commercial Description:
Editor's Note: Formerly Woodstock IPA, now known as Oak-Aged IPA.

Woodstock IPA is an authentic wood-conditioned India Pale Ale with the distinctive flavor of the British Empire’s original. Traditional IPAs were distinguished by rich hops, which were generously added to preserve the beer during its long overseas voyage between England and India. They were also characterized by striking oak flavor, as the beer made its journey in wooden barrels. Woodstock IPA matures in oak and is dry-hopped during the aging process to bring you the classic style.
Specs: Original Gravity 15.5, Specific Gravity 1062, Hop Bitterness 45 IBU

A cloudy copper color with an off white head that laces nicely. A kind of citrus like aroma. Dry taste with a hint of citrus, lemon I think. Pretty good.

pours a cloudy dark copper color with a one finger white head. aroma is a malty hops with a little caramel and oak little lemon and orange as well. has a light body with some nice lacing. flavor is a hoppy malt with lemon and oak and a little caramel. an above average ipa because of the oak aging, if not for that then your talking an average to below average ipa.

Nice copper/orange color with a decent head. The aroma is lots of caramel malt and a good dose of hops. The flavor is really smooth and has a nice creamy mouthfeel. Tastes of hops, caramel and vanilla--very complex. This was a nice suprise.

Orange/gold, with a white head. Aromas are caramel, malt, and hops. Flavors are sugar. citrusy hops, malt, and oak. Better than I expected.

Pours a translucent golden amber with an average creamy off white head that laced and sustained. Aroma of a sweet caramel malt, toned down citrus hops and some oak. Getting more of the wood in the taste. Not really importing much vanilla but more of an earthy woodiness. Hop bittterness is still there, but not overpowering. Seems a little oxidized.

Poured a hazy burnished brass with a medium fizzy head that was gone with a third of the beer left. Had a decent nose with some malty caramely sweetnes off set by some hoppiness. Didn’t pick up much of the oak-aged character. Not bad, not very special. Bottle was a gift from a friend Paul B, who brought it back for me. T’anks Paul!
