Commercial Description:
Editor's Note: Formerly Woodstock IPA, now known as Oak-Aged IPA.

Woodstock IPA is an authentic wood-conditioned India Pale Ale with the distinctive flavor of the British Empire’s original. Traditional IPAs were distinguished by rich hops, which were generously added to preserve the beer during its long overseas voyage between England and India. They were also characterized by striking oak flavor, as the beer made its journey in wooden barrels. Woodstock IPA matures in oak and is dry-hopped during the aging process to bring you the classic style.
Specs: Original Gravity 15.5, Specific Gravity 1062, Hop Bitterness 45 IBU

Clear brownish-amber, smallish head that hangs around and laces. Sweet apple-citrus malt aroma and flavor, with a nice signature IPA hops bite. While not the best of this style, I did enjoy it and would consider this a very good 'session' IPA - it will go on my session list for that purpose.

This used to be WoodstockIPA now its "Oak Aged" ah well. bought in the 12 oz brown bottle..with rather handsome elephant on the label. After pouring the appearance of this IPA is very average , slightly darker than the usual IPA ( maybe it was the Oak?)..small head that goes fast. the aroma is actually the best part of this beer..some great zesty hop..with a woody undertone..and a certain sweet scent. taste however is good but very subdued compared to other NW IPAs..its pleasant enough just doesnt tingle my taste buds. Pretty nice on the palate..not dry. quite drinkable but not top notch. Like most MacTarnahans products I can tell this is a well made beer with good quality ingredients..it just never reaches that special excellent plateau..

Found this one at Trader Joe's in Riverside Ca. Never heard of this brew...pleasently suprised. Mild hop aroma with good balance and faily even fruity esters across the palate. Small tan head with limited lacing. over all not a bad choice. The bottle I picked up did not look like the picture shown here, the one I had displayed a Elephant holding a cask, but the cap said "MacTarnahans Woodstock India Pale Ale"

Nice topaz gold color with a fine head. Sweet aroma. Malty assault that broadens into a hoppy palate and leave behind a nice bitter sting in the middle of your tongue. Woody undertones. Mmmm, good.

Crystal clear, beautiful, amber-colored brew with a small creamy, off-white head. The aroma is of grapefruit, light bourbon and oak. Nicely-balanced. A little thin; nothing really distinctive in the flavor, except for a late appearance of some moderately bitter hops. Light-bodied with a thin, oily mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. The finish is lengthy, bitter and dry. Leaves a lingering, bitter and oily coating on the tongue.

Orange colored pour, large fluffy pale head. Subtle citrus aroma. Flavor of tangy hops, rich maltiness. Some woody notes.
