| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2003 A light to medium bodied IPA with a brown color and a very lightly tan frothy head. A nice aroma of hops and earthiness. The flavor has some nice bitterness and hops with a nip of malts as well as a nice earthy (woody) taste. Very nice IPA. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 21, 2003 The aroma is sweet and of citris, and hops. The appearance is a clear light copper, with a very thin head. The flavor is initially bitter, with notes of citris and a bit of a orange peel aftertaste. The beer is smoothe and easy to drink. Overall very nice. BillKismet (1959), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2003 I quite enjoyed this IPa. Amber bodied with a cream fluff head, it had notes of grapefruit around the floral hop aroma with a possible woodiness (oak) and unripe hop edge distinguishable as well. The body had a nicely rounded alchol-hop balaance with a pleasant integration of oaky(?) dryness and full bodied grape fruity tones. notalush (2699), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 10, 2003 Well, I know why it is called Woodstock IPA; it kind of smells like sweaty hippies eating candy. This doesn't really taste like an IPA; it tastes more like a weak barley wine (it kind of looks like one, too). It has a good amount of maltiness, with sweet fruit and roasted nut flavors. There really aren't any hops to speak of, but it is awfully tasty, so I think I can overlook that for this rating. Try the beer, but try to forget the fact that it is supposed to be an IPA, because it most certainly is not. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 10, 2003 Smells like apples. Actually, this tastes much more like a fruit beer than an IPA. Good fruit beer, bad IPA. I would give it much higher ratings if it wasn't trying to pass off as an IPA. Not much hoppiness, despite the commercial desccription above. Cloudy, murky appearance with a slight head. Decent mouthfeel GermanBrews76 (667), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 29, 2003 wow, a deep amber color, rather uncharacteristic of the average! Piney at first, then a citrucy/acidic aroma hits you pretty solidly, obviously its pretty well hopped. Tastes mellow&oakey, like a fine burbon maybe? An interesting beer. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 29, 2003 Fairly amber color for an IPA. Creamy, mostly diminishing head. Slightly off-white head. Niice hoppy aroma. The cascades come through well in the flavor. But behind the hops is a metallic flavor that fades into vanilla. Kind of a weird combination on the tongue.
