Commercial Description:
Editor's Note: Formerly Woodstock IPA, now known as Oak-Aged IPA.

Woodstock IPA is an authentic wood-conditioned India Pale Ale with the distinctive flavor of the British Empire’s original. Traditional IPAs were distinguished by rich hops, which were generously added to preserve the beer during its long overseas voyage between England and India. They were also characterized by striking oak flavor, as the beer made its journey in wooden barrels. Woodstock IPA matures in oak and is dry-hopped during the aging process to bring you the classic style.
Specs: Original Gravity 15.5, Specific Gravity 1062, Hop Bitterness 45 IBU

A pretty good IPA. Definitely hoppy but not over the top. Nice orangey color and hoppy aroma.

drank this one a few nights ago and was just too lazy at the time to write it up. poured an orangey amber with a fast fading head. a nice citrus aroma but for an IPA the flavors seemed to be very balanced, not very hoppy. easy drinking though. thanks to Fordest for the bottle.

"Assertively hopped" says the neck label, and that’s almost all of the flavor to be found. Ever been on a brewery tour where they let you taste pelletized hops? Same flavor in this bottle; there’s more to beer than that.

Pours slightly cloudy medium golden with normal to above average carbonation. Aroma barely noticeable with just a hint of coffee. Hard to belive it’s 45 IBU as the flavor is not too bitter and finishes rather sweet. Probably would not buy again considering all the other great IPAs around here. Forgot to mention: the oak flavor is noticeable, imparting a whisky like flavor.

This brew is attractive. Very clear for an IPA with a nice head. The aroma is terrific. Unfortunately, it’s not as ’hoppy’ as an IPA should be (in my opinion). Overall, it’s pretty good, but not one of the best.

Beautiful copper color. Very nice hoppy aroma, resinous, caramel. Medium body, dry caramel, correct hopping, not enough malt, some metallic touch. Not impressive hopping.

orangish amber body....aroma is woody and of grapefruit hops; flavor is quite the same, but is very light in malts; and although it is woody in nature, it is lacking the oak bacbone i was expecting....average palate; not bad, but nothing id care to go after again

Slightly hazy amber colour. Dusty, sweaty hop notes with a background of subtle wood. Toasty, dusty, woody flavour. Mild bitterness. Even-handed flavour. Hints of vanilla and herbs (sage, mint) round off an indistinct maltiness. Fairly sweet interpretation but with some unique flavours.
