| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 16, 2006 drank this one a few nights ago and was just too lazy at the time to write it up. poured an orangey amber with a fast fading head. a nice citrus aroma but for an IPA the flavors seemed to be very balanced, not very hoppy. easy drinking though. thanks to Fordest for the bottle. | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jan 24, 2006 "Assertively hopped" says the neck label, and that’s almost all of the flavor to be found. Ever been on a brewery tour where they let you taste pelletized hops? Same flavor in this bottle; there’s more to beer than that. paulmetzger (152), Pocatello, Idaho, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 9, 2006 Pours slightly cloudy medium golden with normal to above average carbonation. Aroma barely noticeable with just a hint of coffee. Hard to belive it’s 45 IBU as the flavor is not too bitter and finishes rather sweet. Probably would not buy again considering all the other great IPAs around here. Forgot to mention: the oak flavor is noticeable, imparting a whisky like flavor. dpointer74 (16), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 26, 2005 This brew is attractive. Very clear for an IPA with a nice head. The aroma is terrific. Unfortunately, it’s not as ’hoppy’ as an IPA should be (in my opinion). Overall, it’s pretty good, but not one of the best. fiulijn (7500), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 26, 2005 Beautiful copper color. Very nice hoppy aroma, resinous, caramel. Medium body, dry caramel, correct hopping, not enough malt, some metallic touch. Not impressive hopping. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2005 orangish amber body....aroma is woody and of grapefruit hops; flavor is quite the same, but is very light in malts; and although it is woody in nature, it is lacking the oak bacbone i was expecting....average palate; not bad, but nothing id care to go after again Oakes (8152), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 10, 2005 Slightly hazy amber colour. Dusty, sweaty hop notes with a background of subtle wood. Toasty, dusty, woody flavour. Mild bitterness. Even-handed flavour. Hints of vanilla and herbs (sage, mint) round off an indistinct maltiness. Fairly sweet interpretation but with some unique flavours.
