Commercial Description:
Editor's Note: Formerly Woodstock IPA, now known as Oak-Aged IPA.

Woodstock IPA is an authentic wood-conditioned India Pale Ale with the distinctive flavor of the British Empire’s original. Traditional IPAs were distinguished by rich hops, which were generously added to preserve the beer during its long overseas voyage between England and India. They were also characterized by striking oak flavor, as the beer made its journey in wooden barrels. Woodstock IPA matures in oak and is dry-hopped during the aging process to bring you the classic style.
Specs: Original Gravity 15.5, Specific Gravity 1062, Hop Bitterness 45 IBU

12 oz bottle. Pours a bright orange with a decent creamy white head that retains fairly well and laces the glass.

The aroma is strong melon and floral/grassy hops with a touch of pepper.

The flavor is melon, some sweet malts and some oak leading to an acidic bitterness that leaves a decent bitter aftertaste. It is medium bodied with sharp carbonation.

Overall, an OK IPA. It’s a little to sweet and too much citric melon for me.

The beer has some floral aroma. The color is amber and the head is white. The flavor is a very slight hoppish and subdued. While the flavor is pleasant this was somewhat weak for an IPA.

Thick head that disappated cleanly. Copper color. Nice floral hops on the nose. Light to medium body on the mouth. Strong hops bitterness but not without balance. Quite good and I believe underrated.

Pours light amber witha small white head, weak smell of hops and flowers. Tastes like a standard IPA but somewhat watered down flavors. Palate is weak and short but alright, a decent beer.

Bottle: Golden amber, minor haze, large off-white foamy head, lattice like lacing, moderate carbonation.   Toasted oat cereal like aroma, very subtle sweet hop tinge.   There is also a slight underarm or wet sock.   Oddly enough, kinda reminds me of a dull JW Lees Harvest in the nose.   Grapefruity flavor, not overly hoppy.   Somewhat light in body, moderate mouthfeel.   Light finish, feels more like a Pale Ale as it doesn’t have any bite at all.   Odd aroma, weak flavor especially on the exit.   Wheres the HOPS?!?!?

Bottle: Courtesy of wolhfs. Aroma is flowery, lightly citrus, some pepper, and light caramel. Pours a transparent light amber (almost orange) with an insignificant white head. Initial taste is very sweet. Finishes with caramel hoppiness with a woodiness that doesn’t come thru until the aftertaste and then fades very quickly. The initial real quick sweetness caught me off guard and was slightly unpleasant at first, but after a few sips it really seemed to blend well for me.
