Commercial Description:
Sling Shot Extra Pale Ale is a crisp, clean, full-bodied brew available for a limited release. Light and golden in color, but richly hopped with Cascade and Nugget hops and composed of the choicest malts, Sling Shot lives up to its claim of being “a mischievous ale that hits the spot.”

This one gave up a clear and light copper coloured body beneath a head that nearly wasn’t. The aroma was lightly hopped and also a little bit floral, quite gentle and pleasing to the nose but nothing memorable. The taste was nice and refreshing, with a good balance of hop and malt, and with a slight bitterness. Good mouth complemented the good finish. Another nice beer from Mac’s, and one that I could easily drink a fair few of at a sitting.

On tap @ Mac’s taproom. Light colored, thin white head. Aroma is malt, but light so you can drink it easy. Okay ice cold on a hot day.

22 oz bomber from the local market. Light amber pour with a small white head. Aroma and flavor mostly caramel malt with some tiny bit of citrus hop flavor and a bit of strange corn flavoring. Cute label, but not much else to recommend it.

12 ounce bottle from The Libation Station in Johnson City, TN. Poiurs a clear amber with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Fairly straightforward citrus hop and toffee aroma. Taste is citrus hops, butter, and a leafy finish. Medium bodied,

barely average offering from Pyramid. nothing exciting here and there are a lot more widely accesible APA’s that I would grab before this one.

Pours a lightly hazy gold with a small, fizzy, off-white head that collapses to a thin skin. The nose is a very sweet light malt aroma with odd corn-y and plastic notes added to the mix. Light to medium-bodied with soft carbonation and an astringent, metallic finish. The flavor follows the nose with a touch of grassy hops hiding in the background and a big, drying, plastic-y finish. This is a pale ale that must be aimed at macro drinkers: overly sweet and not particularly tasty.

Pours gold with decent bright white head. Malt and grass on the nose. Flavor is sweet and very malty. Crisp medium body that has a very slight bitter hop finish.

The aroma is very grassy and malty with a good malt hops balance. The appearance is golden with an average head. The flavor is sweet and bitter as expected but it also has a buttery taste as well as a medicinal taste that seems out of place. The palate is thin but smooth. Overall this is an enjoyable pale ale.
