Commercial Description:
Sling Shot Extra Pale Ale is a crisp, clean, full-bodied brew available for a limited release. Light and golden in color, but richly hopped with Cascade and Nugget hops and composed of the choicest malts, Sling Shot lives up to its claim of being “a mischievous ale that hits the spot.”

The aroma is very grassy and malty with a good malt hops balance. The appearance is golden with an average head. The flavor is sweet and bitter as expected but it also has a buttery taste as well as a medicinal taste that seems out of place. The palate is thin but smooth. Overall this is an enjoyable pale ale.

Bottle, filtered, force-carbonated. Hay and honey scented malts in the nose along with a dull and stale oxidized rye and orange marmalade hop note. Lively carbonation, medium body, slightly oily texture in the finish. Moderately crisp but lacks freshness and impact. Stale honey, rye, wheat and soybean all come to mind. Weak effort.

12 oz bottle. Picked up from the Pyramid in Berkeley. Didn’t try from tap while there, but was curious. Slightly hazy amber color. Malty flavor with slight hoppiness. Very drinkable and a decent pale overall. Was pleasantly surprised.

From the bottle. Good aroma sweet, grassy, and yeasty. Flavour is very rich and a bit alcoholic. Nice beer.

From my trip to the pacific northwest in September. Pours a cloudy orangy yellow with a white head that retains for a good amount of time. Aroma is of bread, grapefruit, malt, caramel and grass. Smells pretty nice. Tastes pretty biscuity, with grapefruit and lemon, some grassy notes. Creamy mouth feel with lively carbonation. Nice pale.
