Commercial Description:
Sling Shot Extra Pale Ale is a crisp, clean, full-bodied brew available for a limited release. Light and golden in color, but richly hopped with Cascade and Nugget hops and composed of the choicest malts, Sling Shot lives up to its claim of being “a mischievous ale that hits the spot.”

Cloudy Gold. Fast, soapy head. Aroma: Citris hops, biscuit. Flavor: Same but sweeter, malt backing. Bitter finish.

Golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is off floral and earthy hops, light biscuit and bread. Pretty malty really with a light earthy bitterness in the finish. Extremely unremarkable, but nothing really wrong with it.

12 oz bottle. Pours gold with sticky white head. The aroma is grassy hops and a little bit of citrus, and something that reminds me of the huge pile of wood shavings in my back driveway. Flavor is grassy hops again, a bit of mild malt, and a strange chemical sourness in the finish. Drinkable, but not so great.

Bottle courtesy of lithy. Pours gold with a rocky white head. Smells of metal, perfume, flowers, dry malt. Tastes of dry malt, light pepper, some grass and hay.

Bottle. Poured a clear gold/amber with a small white head. Aroma of earth and malt. Flavor was better, with a good balance of malt and hops. Body was light, especially for 6.2% ABV.

This is fairly nice, with some good balance and a light English quality to it. It is amber, with a thin, off-white head shrinking to a ring and leaving no real lace. The smell is pleasant, rather english, but mild, leafy a hint earthy, with some bread, hints of stewed plums and butterscotch. The taste is not great but it’s nice. It’s smooth, weasy to drink, yet still tasty and balanced with a good feel. It’s leafy with some butterscotch, bread, citrus. It’s not great with crackers.

On tap at the brewery - This beer was quite disappointing to me. Didn’t smell like much. Didn’t taste like much. Tasted very light considering the 6.2% ABV. Not much character. This may be a good beer to use to introduce Budweiser drinkers to microbrews.
