| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2008 Appearance: Pours a hazy, copper body with a thin ring of white bubbles up top.
Smell: Sweet-smelling, candyish malt nose with a backing of spiced citrus.
Taste: Pale malts trailed by a big hit of candied caramel. Spice as well as lemony citrus and a balancing medium hop bitterness. Finishes clean and bittersweet.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A simple, though rather refreshing and pleasant APA. Oh, it hit the spot alright. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 8, 2009 This one gave up a clear and light copper coloured body beneath a head that nearly wasn’t. The aroma was lightly hopped and also a little bit floral, quite gentle and pleasing to the nose but nothing memorable. The taste was nice and refreshing, with a good balance of hop and malt, and with a slight bitterness. Good mouth complemented the good finish. Another nice beer from Mac’s, and one that I could easily drink a fair few of at a sitting. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

Slightly darker than many XPAs but still quite true. Sharp malty presence in nose as well as some spicy and bitter Cascade and Nugget hops. A very nice warm-weather brew. Stronger than you’d think but smooth and crisp. Nice brew! Wulfstan (509), California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 23, 2008 This is fairly nice, with some good balance and a light English quality to it.
It is amber, with a thin, off-white head shrinking to a ring and leaving no real lace. The smell is pleasant, rather english, but mild, leafy a hint earthy, with some bread, hints of stewed plums and butterscotch. The taste is not great but it’s nice. It’s smooth, weasy to drink, yet still tasty and balanced with a good feel. It’s leafy with some butterscotch, bread, citrus. It’s not great with crackers. AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA

Just a simple little beer that does everything right. A really good beer (and it must be to get a 3.35 average on ratebeer.com without being a hop bomb) bitbucket (2034), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a thick white head that produces sheets of lace. Aroma is restrained, but has some fruit, citrus, nuts, earth. Sweet taste with toffee, citrus, biscuit. A bit floral and some grapefruit on the finish. Suttree (2732), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

That isn’t neccessarily a bad thing. This is a typical APA, very tasty, and a nice session ale. Crisp earthy hops on a unobtrusive malt base BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA
