Commercial Description:
As with the finest old-world stouts, Thunderhead is inky-black with abundant dark-roasted flavor. But this Irish style Extra Stout goes beyond the classic style. It has a wonderful roasted barley character with a noticable but pleasing hop bitterness. Bursting with vibrant hops, Thunderhead delivers rich, smoky flavor with a dry, smooth finish. With enough body to satisfy the most demanding stout zealot, yet smooth enough to please the everyday craft lover, Thunderhead is destined to find broad appeal. This stout reinforces our commitment to producing truly distinctive beers.

Poured opaque black with rich tan head...smelled coffee and light fruits, raspberry or strawberry...tasted much like that at first...light sweet fruity followed by intense coffee and smooth build of hops...finish a little sour and bitter...pretty tasty though...

Poured a deep brown with a nice tan head. Nice burnt malt aroma. Medium bodied, with a nice roasted chocolate taste with some coffee notes, with a bitter finish. a pretty good dry stout.

Almost black in color with a creamy head, this has a strong chocolate and roasted coffee aroma. Very smooth mouthfeel, smoky with just a hint of hops. Rather murky aftertaste.

quite the dull imperial stout I say! it´s lacking almost everything, to weak, unbalanced. Nice hoppiness is it´s only plus, I guess this is aimed at the mass

Well, I guess this is the Thunderhead from Haukur’s marathon rating session... Slight aroma, dull flavour, Big on coffee, not my thing.

Incredibly dark, inky black, brown head. Roasty, some toffee, and some smoke. Medium bodied. Wasn’t all that dry for a dry stout but whatever, it was still pretty good.
