Commercial Description:
As with the finest old-world stouts, Thunderhead is inky-black with abundant dark-roasted flavor. But this Irish style Extra Stout goes beyond the classic style. It has a wonderful roasted barley character with a noticable but pleasing hop bitterness. Bursting with vibrant hops, Thunderhead delivers rich, smoky flavor with a dry, smooth finish. With enough body to satisfy the most demanding stout zealot, yet smooth enough to please the everyday craft lover, Thunderhead is destined to find broad appeal. This stout reinforces our commitment to producing truly distinctive beers.

Very black. Light to medium bodied. Reasonably dry for the type and very roasty.

Light flavour. Thin mouthfeel for the style. Almost cidery fruitiness. I’ve had much better.

(Bottle) Pours ebony color with a large light brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. Medium body with an oily texture. Falvors of raosted coffee and chocolate.

Black, thick roasted malt and coffee flavor. Thick & creamy mouthfeel, rich throughout, with some amaretto in the nose. Really a great sweet stout, very well balanced with the roasted malts doing good work. When it's fresh, this stuff is great. Too long on the shelf and it goes downhill quickly.

Almost black in color with a creamy head, this has a strong chocolate and roasted coffee aroma. Very smooth mouthfeel, smoky with just a hint of hops. Rather murky aftertaste.

Black color with a nice sticky head and prominant lacing. The aroma is very fruity and hoppy, lightly roasted in the finish on the nose. The flavor is full of fruity chocolate and sweet coffee. Mouthfeel is dry and yes, creamy. A good tasting stout that's easy to drink and standard, nothing too over the top, but everything here is done right. Thanks acrodizer!

Bottle. Pours a black color with a large creamy light brown head that was mostly lasting and produced fair lacing. Average roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy texture. Medium smoky stout flavor with a good smooth long finish.

Out of the bottle. Fresh baked bread and some coffee aroma. Flavor starts out sour and mellows a little. Almost no head and a fairly thin mouthfeel. There are better ones in the style.
