| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 1, 2004 Very dark, essentially opaque showing a hint of red-brown. Dark creamy head. Rich aroma, featuring chocolate and roasted notes. Some coffee. Rich velvety texture, full caramel-chocolate, soft roasted malt, acrid finish. Well balanced malt creation. An earthy Britishy hop flavor develops in the finish. Troobie99 (60), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2002 One of the great beers from this brewery. Forget the ’cream,’ (what is it with ’cream’ and this brewery?) Thunderhead is more akin to the dry stouts of Ireland. To my palate, this beer is light without being thin, slightly dry, crisp, and creamy.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 24, 2005 Updated: Dec 12, 2008[bottle - 12 oz] Dark black pour with a thick tan head. Looks just like it does on the label. Slight aroma of coffee, roasted malts and chocolate. Very good stout smell. The flavor is a well-blended mix of chocolate, roasted malts and coffee with a slightly bitter coffee finish and a bitter aftertaste for a split second. There is a lot of smoky notes throughout the beer. I think this is very much under appreciated. It even tasted good warm. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 26, 2007 Had this beer on 5/6/1999. Color is a solid black with good carbonation and a thick head. Aroma is a sweet rich roasted malt scent. Taste is rich, smooth and roasted. It starts with a rich heavy body with a wonderful roasted malt flavor coming out. This goes down smooth with the roasted malt flavor growing. The finish comes on with the malt flavor peaking, followed by a light hop flavor and good hop bitterness. This is a ver good Stout Dogbrick (2901), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 14, 2004 Thanks to Darkover for the trade. This brew pours nearly black with a thick light brown head that dissipates pretty quickly. Very little lacing. The aroma is rather roasty with a little hops. The body on this Stout is not very rich, but it was one of the smoothest, easiest to drink Stouts I have encountered. I was through the glass in no time. Possibly because it is a little on the carbonated side. Flavors of roasted malt, coffee and hops, but none too abundant. The finish is lightly bitter hops. Overall this isn’t the most flavorful Stout you can find but it scores big points in the drinkability category. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2004 Black color with a nice sticky head and prominant lacing. The aroma is very fruity and hoppy, lightly roasted in the finish on the nose. The flavor is full of fruity chocolate and sweet coffee. Mouthfeel is dry and yes, creamy. A good tasting stout that's easy to drink and standard, nothing too over the top, but everything here is done right. Thanks acrodizer!
