Commercial Description:
This robust, festive brew is inspired by the crisp autumn season and the great Oktoberfest tradition. An authentic German style Märzen, Uncle Otto’s delivers rich, malty flavor with complex overtones of a half-dozen select malts and Mt. Hood and Saaz Hops. True to the Bavarian original, Uncle Otto’s lagers slowly for two full months, making it exceptionally smooth drinking. Available August through October, Uncle Otto’s animated flavor makes the blustery fall days of leaf raking come alive.

Amber color, caramel malt scent. Interesting, it has a sweet taste, but a lingering hop aftertaste. Neat. Not a great beer, but perfectly accecptable.

Draft. Amber color with a good head. The malts are a bit too string and could be a bit more mellow.

Low ester yet slight medicine aroma. A faint touch of licorice as well. Clear orange beer with tan head. The malt body is lacking, yet the flavor lingers, with a touch of astringency. This beer is not a favorite.

Medium brown color, small off white head that had some decent staying power.Malty, caramel aroma, slightly sweet. The taste is malty and caramel with a decent amount of hops coming through, lightly sweet as well. The after taste is sweet malt and caramel with a faint presence of hops. Not bad but definately could be better.

clear, amber color, much the same as other Ofests. swirling creates very little head. aroma is bready malts with very subtle hop spiciness. flavor is fruity with hints of chocolate, slight NATURAL peanut butter (not the processed kind) and hops in the finish.

A fairly decent representation of what I consider to be a boring style. Malty, caramelly, sort of flat and round mouthfeel. I've had worse for a Marzen though, beats the heck out of Sam Adam's.

A deep transpicuous burnished copper with an average sized head, frothy and light tan in color as it vanishes quickly it leaves a very thin bit of lace to attempt a covering. Nose is mostly malt, hint of caramel, sweet and pleasant enough with nice malt and lightly sweet start, top is thin to medium in feel. At the finish the hops are spicy and the acidity persistent, dry aftertaste, an average beer, nothing that gets me excited, but hell it takes a real “Killer Beer” to do that these days.
