Commercial Description:
This robust, festive brew is inspired by the crisp autumn season and the great Oktoberfest tradition. An authentic German style Märzen, Uncle Otto’s delivers rich, malty flavor with complex overtones of a half-dozen select malts and Mt. Hood and Saaz Hops. True to the Bavarian original, Uncle Otto’s lagers slowly for two full months, making it exceptionally smooth drinking. Available August through October, Uncle Otto’s animated flavor makes the blustery fall days of leaf raking come alive.

Bottled. Nut brown. Loads of caramel up front. Sweet big crystal malt character and clean mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Not bad, but lacks malt character, and is not even remotely in the style it states.

Clear copper body with medium light tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel nicely balanced by healthy spiciness. Interesting flavor -- very sweet malty, but also quite spicy and with decent hops.

Sparkling clear copper lager. The aroma is malty with notes of caramel. Nicely balanced flavor due to a nice spiciness. Very decently hopped. Another Oktoberfest beer... what can I say? Not my thing. Still, great for the style!

Copper color with a light tan head. Sweet potato aroma. Sweet malt start with a later toastiness that kicks in. Astringent in the finish. Spicy hops mid gulp. Muddled flavors and ear cloying sweetness distract.

Pellucid auburn color, light average head, simetrical but evaporative. Light caramel aroma with a touch of cinnamon and roast. Flavor is initially sweet but not overly complex. This finishes all the way to the end but is very watery and average for an oktoberfest.

Notes from last Thanksgiving. Rich deep copper pour, with aroma of caramel malt, toffee, some spices. Tastes as it smells, with some finishing hops and spice.

Copper hue with good head and very good lace. The aroma is caramelize malts, tangy and citrus hops, and a bit of sweet spice. The initial sweetness is balanced by a hop zing on the finish making this a rather enjoyable brew. Lingering maltiness and medium-bodied mouthfeel. Better than average fest bier.

Medium copper color, small head. A medium bodied Marzen style ale. Rich slightly sweet malt flavor, with a nice spicy hoppyness. Smooth taste. Full flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is malty and slightly sweet.
