Commercial Description:
Here's further proof that a drinkable beer can also be an interesting beer. Our Zig Zag River Lager is smooth, mellow and aromatic, with an inviting flavor that strikes a balance between maltiness and hop bitterness. Zig Zag gets its name from the picturesque river that gathers icy snow-melt from the slopes of Mount Hood and carries it westward to the Willamette Valley.

Tap @ brewery. A darker golden yellow than I typically find in brewpub lagers. Good grainy body with plenty of hops.

Medium gold color, medium head. A medium malted lager, medium hopped. Full flavor, medium bodied. Nice smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full and smooth. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Typical fairly clear amber, uneven foamy head. Cool colors on the label. Interesting hoppiness in the smell. One of the better lagers I’ve had, interesting complexity. Hints of chocolate, decent aftertaste. Drinkable and good.

Review for this cloudy beer are pretty solid for a lager, and I simply loved it! It's flat out sweet and very malty. It gets even more flavorful as it warms. Oddly, it has hints of oranges (I swear!). It's Achilles heel is that it's a tad overcarbonated.

This is the worst beer I’ve had from this brewer. Not a bad lager, but has a funny aftertaste.

This just didn’t sit right with me. It was okay, but it was a little too much on the bitter side for me. It has a nice head and aroma, but it’s just too much for my tastes.

Probably the best I have had from this brewery. Nice frothy head. Medium bodied with a pleasant hop finish. Very good lager.

More aroma than some lagers I’ve tried, and at first sip the taste is better too. It’s sweeter, with a light palate and bitter finish. The malty sweetness surprised me, and really appeared after taking a bite of food. I had only one bottle of it, and I think I will buy more to try it again. Right now if I had to say what I think about it, it would be very good---but not great.
