Commercial Description:
Here's further proof that a drinkable beer can also be an interesting beer. Our Zig Zag River Lager is smooth, mellow and aromatic, with an inviting flavor that strikes a balance between maltiness and hop bitterness. Zig Zag gets its name from the picturesque river that gathers icy snow-melt from the slopes of Mount Hood and carries it westward to the Willamette Valley.

Tastes like a lager, but not too bad. It's not very flavorsome but has some very nice subtleties in the flavor. A very floral hop presence is there but without the bitterness of the boiled hops. Very clean and crisp with an average body.

Medium gold color, medium head. A medium malted lager, medium hopped. Full flavor, medium bodied. Nice smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full and smooth. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

At the Portland tap room. Dark golden with a thin head. Another very malty beer, sweet and grainy. Tart appley finish. Not bad.

Review for this cloudy beer are pretty solid for a lager, and I simply loved it! It's flat out sweet and very malty. It gets even more flavorful as it warms. Oddly, it has hints of oranges (I swear!). It's Achilles heel is that it's a tad overcarbonated.

Tap @ brewery. A darker golden yellow than I typically find in brewpub lagers. Good grainy body with plenty of hops.

Not a bad lager. Rather hoppy; sort of a lager-meets-pale-ale beer. Refreshing on hotter days.

Smooth lager, subtle sweetness, but not quite enough hop. Will do the job on a hot day.
