The weak aroma was malty with dark malt. The mildly mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish and a mild malt hop bite with a slight acidic note. The smooth staring flavor contained notes of very mild cherry and dark malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2006 Updated: Apr 14, 2006draft at MABC - This beer pours opaque and black with a thin head. The aroma is a nice mix of bourbon and cherries. The fruit and whiskey really come through in the flavor too, though the whiskey isn’t as strong as it was in MA’s bourbon barrel porter. However, the palate is too thin and the flavor too weak. It seems that some very pleasant bourbon and cherry flavors are found in a rather lackluster stout. It’s fairly good, but disappointing after the true excellence of this past winter’s bourbon barrel porter.
