The aroma was caramely hoppy and mild. The mouth feel was very tingly and very hoppy at the start with a lingering mild tingly finish. The flavor was very nice with tingly hops mild caramel and thick malts. It was too strong in the hop department for a typical English IPA. Too hoppy for the Brits, but suited my tastes just fine. patrick767 (1403), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 25, 2006 tap - Pours a copper color with a moderate, long lasting head that leaves some nice lacing. The aroma is of hops, though surprisingly faint, which seems to be common with Mad Anthony beers. Besides the name, I really thought this had the hop character of an IPA, so I’m not sure why it’s classified as an English Pale Ale. But anyway. it has the typical hoppy IPA finish and is a solid, though not great, brew. hotstuff (3038), Indiana, USA Feb 23, 2006 Draft MABC. Small off-white head that mostly diminished, good lacing, transparent, and an orange hue. Malt and hops nose. Malty and relatively hoppy flavor. Tingly, hoppy mouthfeel. Medium body.
