Draft at MABC. Small tan head that was mostly lasting with good lacing, transparent, no carbonation observed, and a brown hue. Nose was malt, roasty notes and lightly hoppy. Ditto for the flavor. Mouthfeel was fairly smooth and slightly tingly. Light-medium in body. Quaffable, easy to drink beer but not true to style. Much better tasting available of this style.

draft at the brewery - Pours brown with a two finger lingering head. The aroma is of malt, some of it caramel, and a touch of alcohol. The flavor is very malt dominated with a hint of dark fruits and just a little hops. It’s medium bodied and the alcohol also comes through somewhat in the taste. Warming and a decent quaff though not a great example of this style.

New in January of 2008, this draftbrew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a transparent uncarbonated dark brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The aroma was malty sweet and mild hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt mild hops and sweet. A decent one that I would consider buying again.
