Cletus (3602), Connecticut, USA Oct 29, 2008 Bours straw color with a nice white head. Smells of pepper, some dry malt. Tastes malty with a hint of citrus on the finish. frankenkitty (1834), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Oct 14, 2008 Updated: Oct 24, 2008Even when very, very cold, this beer pours with an immense white head that takes a long time to settle. When you stack that atop a lemon-yellow body in which dusty particulate hangs, it’s not very inviting to the eye. (This observation is from my second tasting, while the first bottle was cellar-temp and similar in appearance.)

Have you heard the Jeff Foxworthy joke in which he makes comparisons on how men and women perceive smells differently? He basically goes on to comment that the worse something smells, the more appealing it is to the man... who will then shudder in disgust yet call a friend over to share in the experience. Well, when I poured the first bottle of this beer, I basically did this to my wife. ’’’’Oh my god... smell this.’’’’ Which she did and recoiled with a grimace. Then I said, ’’’’Go ahead, taste it’.’’’’ Which she again did before nearly decking me. I felt really bad about it and I apologized afterwards, but I needed to share this beer for two reasons. First: to validate my surprising disgust of this product from a brewer whom I had only heard good things about. Secondly: to save me from finishing the bottle alone.

Since I haven’t really written anything descriptive yet, let me simply offer a string of words: corn, feet, sour, DMS, phlegm, wheatgrass, cardboard, awful. This is actually worse than a lot of BMC products because at least those finish quickly and don’t hang onto your palate. This beer was exquisitely disappointing.
