mdm46410 (628), Griffith, Indiana, USA Apr 20, 2008 Updated: May 26, 2008On tap at Mad Anthony and served in a shaker. This stout poured a near black with some light showing through around the edges of the glass. A thin, bubbly tan head quickly faded away. A bit of faint lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of chocolate and light roasted malt. The flavor was much the same with a hint of oats showing up. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. An average oatmeal stout. vyvvy (1775), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Apr 18, 2008 Sampled at Schafly Repeal Fest. Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma is creamy with milk chocolate and a good amount of sweetness. Medium body with some sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with coffee bitterness, char and overall more harshness than expected. The body gets thin as it goes along. A bit of spice starts coming out further down the glass as well. Okay stout. drfabulous (860), Columbia, Missouri, USA Apr 13, 2008 Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition, on tap. Sweet, rich, lovely. A very nice oatmeal that worked out well on a cold day. Had two. kwoeltje (1237), Manchester, Missouri, USA Apr 12, 2008 (draught at Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition) as "Black Squirrel". Nice black with dark tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, and roated oats. Not as as sweet as some oatmeal stouts.
