The aroma is fairly mild smoke with some malt underlying it and maybe a little caramel. Smoke leads the flavor followed by malty sweetness. Hops presence is minimal, but I didn’t find it overly sweet. The smoke is obvious without being overpowering, so I’d say it’s balanced well with the rest of the beer. It’s not outstanding. Take a fairly average amber and add well balanced smoke. It’s solid though.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 27, 2009 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a amber colored uncarbonated body. The flavor contained mild smoky malty notes. The mouth feel was tingly from start to finish. The soft floral hop flavor was decent quite quafable and not overly done. A good job was done on the smokiness. There was a good lacing and a nice mild smoky malt aroma. Dogbrick (2901), Columbus, Ohio, USA

The beer is a clear amber color with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Peaty malt and smoke in the nose. Medium body and a little undercarbonated with flavors of sweet malt, caramel and light smoke. The finish is malty with a mildly smoky and fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.
