DocLock (4175), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2005 Deep brown pour with aroma of caramnel malt, figs, some rauch, and some hops. Tastes densely caramel malty, with some figs, brown sugar at the finish. tupalev (2385), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 29, 2005 Brought back in a Liberty Steakhouse Growler from my In-Laws. Growler was approx. 3 weeks old when sampled (unopened). Dark brown pour with a tan, very creamy looking head. Sweet malt aroma that wasn’t overpowering. The mouthfeel is interesting - this is a full bodied, almost thick beer, yet there is a nice tingly carbonation that makes it feel lighter in your mouth. Very creamy rich sweet malt taste - very nice and drinkable for sure. Only complaint - it didn’t finish all that well - a bit of a sharp (n a bad way) roof of your mouth tang at the end. Did not taste strong and the carbonation remained lively all the way through, which was essential for this beer because of its thickness. An interesting and enjoyable take on a Scottish style ale and a perfect first post-lent beer! Thanks to all who tracked down this brewpub’s info.
