Pours a dark brown that shows some light with a thin pale tan head. The nose is sweet and warm, chocolate, roasty, some honey. The flavor is dry, metallic, lightly roasty, sweet, and astringent. The palate is astringent. Not very pleasant.

A beer I woul dbuy again.

Nov 18, 2008 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of fiver29. Pours an opaque dark brown with an orange hue and a tall and dense light brown head. Distinct aroma of roasted malt and yes....chocolate. Medium body with sweetish roasted malt and a burned, lightly ashy edge. Has a light underlying acidity - presumably from the used malts. Subdued bitterness. Nice alright. 311008

Nov 3, 2008 22 fl oz bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. Pours dark brown with a fully gone head. Mild spiced and chocolate malty aroma. Smooth. Vanilla and chocolate smooth flavoured. Light dryness and mild spiced. Smooth chocolate finish. Nice roasted malty too. Light fruity into the finish.
