jasonp (1461), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Jul 4, 2008 Hazy golden orange with a white head. Perfume, brett, lavender and spices in the nose; interesting. Flavor has notes of lemon, wheat, flowers, spice, brett/funk, slightly tart and sour. Very crisp and attenuated. Medium bodied with effervescent, lively carbonation. Interesting beer, perhaps a slightly funky, accidental saison?
wickedpete (575), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Jan 31, 2008 Thanks to Ken for this one. Light brown body, fizzy head formation. Sour aroma, brett noticeable, and olive juice unfortunately. Flavor is sour, lemony, and shows some brett. Stingy on the palate. I did not enjoy this at all. acrdz (4535), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jan 30, 2008 12oz bottle shared by kmweaver. So this is a wheat lager made with a Belgian yeast - at least it smells and tastes that way. Pillowy, perfumy and mildly spicy yeast all over this thing, it smells pretty nice and tastes even better. Strangely delicious, with pepper, tart wheat, orange peel and coriander, though it’s perhaps a little too syrupy in the finish. argo0 (6332), Washington DC, USA Jan 27, 2008 (12oz bottle, thanks kmweaver) Medium off-white head topped by cloudy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, Belgian yeast, Bret-lemon sourness, some wheat. Taste is mild sweet, Bret, lemon, some floral, wheat, yeast. Dry light body, light acidity, fairly smooth. Unusual, and quite enjoyable. kmweaver (2274), Nicaragua Jan 26, 2008 12oz bottle, courtesy of Brigadier. Thanks, Nathan! Pours a cloudy, golden-orange color; white head with medium-bubbled lacing. Some pleasant, ephemeral tartness in the aroma: wheat, pepper, and a dense yeastiness. Medium mouthfeel; solid citrus tartness, yeast, and wheatiness; a bit of dustiness creeps in as well, but overall a very drinkable, mildly tart wheat beer. Medium finish, showing dust and tart citrus and some breadiness at the end.
