Tmoney99 (3523), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 18, 2008 Draft sample at the brewpub. Poured clear dark brown color with an average creamy light brown head that was mostky lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted malty and bubblegum aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Solid sweet malty flavor with an average smooth bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met. AleDude (22), USA Apr 13, 2008 The Bunsen Bock is an excellent doppelbock. It pours smoothly and has a full-bodied, malty flavor. I had this beer at the Brew Keeper last December and took some home where I am still enjoying it!! BeerBelcher (714), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Dec 28, 2007 This beer was a pretty decent doppelbock, with some initial strange odors. I’d have it again.
It poured a deep, rich red-brown with decent head formation. Aroma was initially a bit of sour milk (I’ve gotten this form Doppelbocks before), but that smell sort of seemed to go away after it sat in my glass for a few minutes. It was replaced by sweet toffee aromas. Flavor was full-bodied, caramel-y, and malty. Pretty good. Mouthfeel was full and appropriate.
Pretty good. I’d recommend this. I picked up this bottle from Brew & Brew (just down the street from the Brew Keeper) in North Ridgeville, OH.
