Moderate fruity and small malty aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Moderate to heavy fruity bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Pours a nice ruby semi clear color with a light beige head. Smell is almost a bit cola like with some sweet malt and subtle hops. Taste is fairly balanced and dry with some fruity flavors and caramel. A touch of booze, but not 12.5% worth, really. Medium body and carbonation. Decent barley wine overall. BeerandBlues2 (2678), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bottle received via trade with fiver29. Pours brown with an average, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), average hops (perfume), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of dates, apple, and brown sugar. Full bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. tomthompson89 (1241), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 28, 2008 color is amber big fluffy head kinda light for a barely wine, well done but thin for barley wine, nose oddly enough was yogurt??? easy drinker Sammy (3287), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 27, 2008 Bottle obtained from the brewpub. The best is the look: A big white bubbly head on a brown body. A lot of lace. Mouthfeel is a little light. Not significantly complex. Basically malty and drinkable. Some sugar. But not too sweet overall. Fairly boozy. Not much in aroma.
