cbkschubert (1721), Rattlesnake Country, Arizona, USA May 18, 2008 22 oz. bottle via trade with Brigadier - Pours a clear copper color with a one and a quarter finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Has a sweet toasty malt aroma. Quite nice. Lively carbonation. Flavor is toasted malt with a touch of vanilla and cereal. Medium body. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. This is a really good beer. Thanks Nathan
ChainGangGuy (1808), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Nov 19, 2008 Appearance: Pours a nearly opaque, dark amber body with no real head formation despite a somewhat heavy-handed pour.
Smell: Definite cream soda aroma with further scents of lightly bready malts and yes, yes, sprinkle-covered sugar cookies.
Taste: Ahhhhh, cream soda. Toasty pale malts with a drizzle of sweet caramel syrup atop some homemade cookies. Faint fruitiness. No more than a light bitterness, leaving this a pretty sweet brew. Generally, you get a sense of cream soda all the way through to the finish. Tiny kick of alcohol noted on the end of each sip, but nothing to outright indicate the 11% ABV.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium-low carbonation. Rather creamy mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Right now I’ll say it’s "good". Provided you enjoy the taste of concentrated cream soda, of course. unclemattie (1746), Georgia, USA Nov 1, 2008 22oz bottle, pours hazy dark amber color. aroma has a earthy spice to it, some vanilla, sweet caramel malted grain. Flavor of sweet cotton candy. Then finishes off with a lingering hop bitterness. Very unique quality. Funny and different. I kinda expected a Braggot, not even close. ABV is well hidden. A Hopped creme soda...? ATLBeerDog (279), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 1, 2008 From a brown 22oz bottle - Pours a cloudy pale orange with almost no head or carbonation. Smells of sweet malts with a nice vanilla note, and a decent hop presence. First sip is sweet like cotton candy with a tad hops coming through. Boy this is sweet. Finishes slightly bitter. Nice mouthfeel that is just slightly under carbonated. Very nice but too sweet for me. 11% ABV is very well hidden! Ibrew2or3 (2003), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Oct 27, 2008 Courtesy of the BeerVirgin72 at mcbackus tasting. Pours copper with thin head. The aroma is sweetness front to back with some brighter notes coming to the fore from time to time. Smells sweet and sugary with hints of vanilla. The taste starts with some malts followed by full vanilla and sugar sweetness running right into the finish. Just about zero sense of the sizable ABV. Yummy brew that is certainly different than most. Well done. dchmela (903), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 27, 2008 Tasting at Backus’ Backyard Bash. Thanks to Beervirgin for the taste!. Pours a nice orange amber. Sweet cream soda aroma. Slightly bitter bite with a cream soda base. Sweet malt, smooth and very hidden alcohol. Beware, this could sting.
