Light copper, soft white head. Nose is vanilla, a little buttery malt. Reminiscent of an english barleywine. Very little hops, some alcohol. Flavor is more of that rich english malt, very clean toffee, strawberry & cream. Tasty but a bit sweet.

Sample from 22oz bottle at the Brewkeeper tasting at Blacklick Wine and Spirits on 10/9/08. I’ve never had a regular cream ale, let alone imperial. Semi-opaque pour of a dark amber. Smell is divine. Lots of vanilla, malt and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is right there with the aroma: plenty of vanilla, caramelized sugar and malt, with sprinkles of coconut and sweet corn. The alcohol is there, but you’d never guess 11%. Medium finish. Solid effort and easily in my top 2 for the evening.

Bottle sampled at Blacklick Wine and Spirits Tasting held on 10-9-08. I rated lower on appearance as all these samples were out of plastic cups. The aroma on this one was DELIGHTFUL. Smelled like vanilla and caramel. The brewer said this tends to be a favorite of the ladies...And I can see why. I LOVED THIS BEER. Flavor was sweet vanilla, malts, and caramel. Very much reminded me of a vanilla cream soda with a hint of gingerale. Way too drinkable with NO TRACE of the 11 percent alcohol. This was my favorite beer of the night. So yummy I bought two more bottles...WOO HOO!

Bottle. Pours clear orange/amber with off white head. Aroma is vanilla and sweet. Taste is malty, vanilla, cookies, very sweet. Finish is clean, flavors mask the alcohol content very well.

(22oz bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of vanilla frosting, watermelon, and coconut. Flavor of vanilla ice cream, almond, and cereal. I would have never imagined an 11% cream ale that could hide the alcohol like this one.
