Draft at Bigwood 09. Dark chocolate brown with Belgian style tight head. Chocolate, caramel, coffee, light roasted malt, milk lacto. Lots of caramel coffee, nutty walnut, dark fruity caramel. Body is thinner, but no to a fault.

Draft. Mahogony beer with a light tan head. Bourbon and vanilla aroma. Vanilla and caramel flavor with light bourbon. Lighter than expected body. Vanilla, cocoa, and light bourbon lingers.

Pours dark brown with a thin lacing on the top. Subtle bourbon nose with chocolate. A bit bland in the flavor, with a medium body.

GABF 2008. Their Extra Stout, aged in bourbon barrels. Black pour, almost no head. Scotchy vanilla oak aroma with low chocolate notes in the background. Very sweet entry, all boozy oak up front, but there is generous chocolate and burnt malt here to add some depth and complexity. Sweet finish with low bitterness. This walks a fine line, but falls short of being too boozy or too sweet, and in the end I really enjoyed it.
