There is also a little bit of oranges. The taste is light milk chocolate with some cereal and sweet pancakes. Nice, surprisingly bitter finish. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with a medium sized beige head. The aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, fruity, and a hint of pine. The flavor is much of the same; sweet, caramel, fruits. All in all a pretty standard amber. Drinkable, but not anything to get excited about. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 29, 2008 Bottle. Small vanila head that mostly diminished, floaties, hazy, splotchy amount of lacing, and an amber hue. Nose was malty, caramel, hoppy, and bitter. Ditto for the flavor. Fairly smooth mouthfeel and light-medium body. Not a great beer by any means, just nothing truly stood out with it. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 27, 2008 12oz enjoyed from a trade with Bockyhorsey I think
Deep red-amber pour with a very nice head. I thought it looked quite good. Earthy hop aroma is basically it. Nicely bitter in what I think of as a perfect ESB way. Earthy bitterness with a solid grain base. Quite nice. Semi-dry mouth feel and medium body. This beer, IMO, split the style of ESB and amber in a way that I really enjoyed. Not a spectacular brew. But one that I would drink again. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2008 12 oz bottle received from General66. Thanks! Pour was not surprisingly a red/amber color. 1-finger off-white head dissipated down pretty quickly. As the rater before me sated, the aroma was subtle malts. Not too much going on in the nose. Mild spicy hops and a smooth caramel backbone make this easy to drink and enjoyable. Not outstanding by any means, but definitely a very sessionable ale.
