Body is orange-red color. On the somewhat cloudy side. Huge amounts of carbonation bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Aroma nothing special to write home about. Flavor not of a traditional amber/brown ale with more hop character than normal. Not unpleasant. As it warms up a bit the hoppy flavor becomes more pronounced. would stand up good to spicy food such as a curry or (shutter!!) jerked chicken. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2009 A turbid reddish-brown color on the pour with a two-finger tall head and good lacing. The aroma was light citrus and some toasted, almost burnt malts. The flavor was citrus and floral hops that gave way to nutty, toasted malt. A bit of a metallic twang on the finish. Thin to medium bodied with a unfiltered rawness. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2009 Hazy reddish amber pour topped by a dense beige head. The smell is a finely balanced mingling of caramel, fruity hops, toast, and a hint of cocoa. The flavor has notes of honey, citrus, and fruity pebbles. The body is somewhat thin but not too bad. Finishes slightly dry with a lingering bitter fruity flavor. Though it is a bit odd this is a nice beer. It remains balanced throughout and doesn’t wear out the palate. carruthm (1141), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Color is a fine red, they got that part right. Head is decent, creamy off-white. It smells like fucking wheat bread and caramel, mostly wheat bread. The taste is grainy and husky with notes of that wheat bread again. Where are the hops that were noted on the label? I don’t taste the citrus notes spoken of and I feel cheated. Overall, this one is average. I wonder if it wasn’t old, as I have never seen this brand in Colorado as far back as I can remember.
