Commercial Description:
This beer was originally brewed for a famous Reggae festival that happens each year here in Humboldt County. A malty bitter American Amber style ale. This mahogany hued ale brings an intense spectrum of hop flavors from the spicy aromatic to lingering bitter, all underscored by a full- bodied caramel richness. Try this brew with a little Jamaican Jerked Chicken.

On tap at the Brewgrass Festival in Asheville, pours a cloudy brown with a nice head. Hoppy to the taste, and a little nutty.

Draught. Pours dark mahogany-tinged red with a thin off-white head that leaves tight lacing. The aroma is sweet barley and toast. The flavor is more floral hops than malt, much like a pale ale, and has that grapefruit flavor that often comes out in IPAs. Yet the finish is earthy. This is poorly balanced. There is very little harmony of flavors at all. Blah.

On draft at the Federal in Durham, NC. Pours a dark red color with a lasting off-white head. Hops and malt apparent in the aroma with a hint of caramel. Surprisingly hoppy flavor is slightly citrusy and a little flowery. The malt finishes things up nicely. A very enjoyable session beer.

draught. Pours a blood red with a foamy white head. There’s a spicy aroma on this with a touch of yeasty sweetness. The flavor is a full spectrum of hops with a definite orange taste and a bit of ash. Fairly smooth none-the-less, but maybe a bit too strangely acidic. There’s a hint of caramel hidden in the finish. This is more like a bitter or maybe a pale ale than an amber.

Draught. Deep amber, hazy. Off white head. Nice flowery hop aroma. Great hop flavor and bitterness with caramel undertones. Delicious.
